About

I'm Jess, an English graduate with an MA in Creative Writing, working as a freelance culture journalist.

I predominantly cover entertainment, lifestyle, pop culture, mental health, grief and women's issues for digital and print publications such as Wonderland, Dazed, Stylist, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, British GQ, The Daily Beast, Insider, Fandom, Inverse, The Telegraph, Cosmopolitan, i and Refinery29.

In the past, I've worked as a Freelance Entertainment Reporter at various digital news desks for Digital Spy, Metro.co.uk, Huff Post UK and Stylist. I also freelanced as an SEO Writer at RadioTimes.com, and as an Entertainment and Live TV Reporter for OK! and The Mirror.

From 2020-2023, I was also one of the lead writers at the quarterly print publication, The Happy Newspaper.

Alongside this, I've spoken on podcasts, festivals and panels at the BFI and Good Grief Festival, as well as appeared on various radio shows for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

When I'm not writing, you can catch me watching the latest Marvel movie, reading a YA novel (or re-reading Jane Austen), spinning, or out on adventures. I'm still writing my young adult fantasy novel too, so watch this space...
